The facts
Kentucky State Police received a tip that marijuana was being grown on the Defendant's farm. The Defendant had erected a locked gate and posted explicit No Trespassing signs at the entrance to his property. Officers drove past the locked gate, walked down a footpath for a mile, and found a field of marijuana plants growing in a secluded area of the farm.
