The facts
Coffee County, Alabama Police checked the Dale County warrant database, were told there was an active arrest warrant for the Defendant, and arrested him in reliance on that information. In fact the warrant had been recalled months earlier, but the Dale County database was never updated to reflect that. The search of the Defendant incident to the arrest produced methamphetamine and a firearm he was barred from possessing.
